Will Tim Tebow Be Named Denver Broncos Starting QB?

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Denver Broncos nearly completed a comeback victory over the San Diego Chargers in Week 5 after the Tim Tebow replaced Kyle Orton as the quarterback in the second half. Tebow's numbers weren't very impressive -- 4-of-10 for 29 yards and 38 rushing yards -- but he did lead his team on a pair of scoring drives and kept them in the game.

Now that the game is over, we look to the future. Will head coach John Fox make it official and name Tebow the starting quarterback of the Broncos? The Denver Post predicts that happens this week.

Fox did not make it official during his postgame news conference that Tebow would be the Broncos' starting quarterback from this point on. But he likely will make it official Tuesday.

And so the Tebow era likely begins this week.

Tebow's not going to put up numbers that impress you on the stat sheet but you could even tell on the TV broadcast that the energy changed once he entered the game. The fans were more excited, the defense started making more plays and everything just seemed...different.

Keep an eye on news out of Denver this week where the Broncos may name their new starting quarterback.
