Cleveland Browns defensive end Marcus Benard is in a Cleveland hospital following a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon.
Benard's condition is unknown at the moment. At the time of the report he was still in the emergency room.
Cleveland police dispatch said the crash happened at I-71 northbound and Dennison near West 65th Street. The motorcycle went into the wall, and Cleveland police, the fire department and EMS were on the scene, according to dispatch.
Benard was signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2009 out of Jackson State, originally to the practice squad. He was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster in November of that year.
He recorded 7.5 sacks in 2010. Benard also collapsed in the Browns locker room in November 2010 during a press conference.
