Marcus Bernard Accident: Browns DE Suffers Broken Arm In Motorcycle Crash

Cleveland Browns defensive end Marcus Benard broke his arm in a motorcycle accident shortly after leaving practice on Monday.

According to coach Pat Shurmur, Benard is in stable condition and will be transferred from MetroHealth Medical Center to the Cleveland Clinic for further tests and evaluation.

Benard seems to have avoided much more serious injury in the crash. It is still unknown what caused the crash or if there were other vehicles involved.

Team spokesman Neal Gulkis said trainer Joe Sheehan is with Benard.

Benard was signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2009 out of Jackson State, originally to the practice squad. He was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster in November of that year.

He recorded 7.5 sacks in 2010. Benard also collapsed in the Browns locker room in November 2010 during a press conference.
