It took Calvin Johnson one a split-second to inject some excitement into this Bears vs. Lions Monday Night Football matchup. Detroit quarterback Matt Stafford found the wide receiver they call Megatron for a 73-yard touchdown that gave the Lions a 7-0 lead after a scoreless first quarter.
Johnson continues his brilliant (insane?) start to the 2011 season. How great has he been? With that catch, Johnson becomes the first player to record nine touchdowns in the first five games of the season.
Here's video of the record-setting grab:
To figure out how Johnson got so open, we turn to Smart Football's Chris Brown: "Great formation for the Lions. Two tight-ends each off the line: let Lions use both TEs and RB for 8-man protection. Time to hit CJ deep."
