Tim Tebow Will Be Denver Broncos Starting QB, John Fox Reportedly Tells Team

Stay connected with SB Nation

As expected, Denver Broncos head coach John Fox told his team on Tuesday morning that Tim Tebow has been named the team's new starting quarterback, according to Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com. This was the move most people expected Fox to make.

On Sunday, Tebow entered the game after halftime in place on Kyle Orton and, despite just 4-of-10 passing, helped engineer a near-comeback for the Broncos. Denver ultimately lost the game against the San Diego Chargers, 29-24, but Tebow's presence seemed to energize the fan base and the players.

Fox said on Monday that he wasn't ready to name a starting quarterback but that an announcement could come on Tuesday. After this report, we expect Fox to announce to the public during Tuesday's press conference that it's Tebow time in Denver.

The Broncos are 1-4 and their season is quickly going nowhere so evaluating Tebow is the best move right now. Plus, this is the move that the fans have wanted for some time so it will make more than a few people happy in Denver.
