The New York Jets end a three-game losing streak against the winless Miami Dolphins behind the play of Mark Sanchez and Darrelle Revis.
The Jets and the Dolphins played an ugly game on Monday NIght Football. New York didn't look great, but they did enough against a winless Miami team that played even worse.
Darrelle Revis was the biggest reason for the Jets win. New York started slow and looked to be in trouble before Revis took an interception 100 yards for a touchdown. That gave New York a 7-3 lead and from that point on the Dolphins unraveled, while the Jets woke up.
With the win, the Jets even their record at 3-3. The Dolphins have lost their first five contests.
Below is a quick-hit recap from the Monday Night Football contest.
Offensive Player of the Game: Mark Sanchez
At times, Sanchez looked like an actual NFL quarterback on Monday Night. He completed 14 of 25 attempts for 201 yards, tossed a touchdown pass and rushed for another.
Defensive Player of the Game: Darrelle Revis
The Jets cornerback was on pace to claim offensive player of the game honors before Sanchez stepped up his play. Revis frustrated Dolphins wide receiver Brendan Marshall, who dropped passes and had little success in the red zone.
Revis made the most exciting play of the game, a 100-yard pick-six.
What It Means For the Jets: New York picks itself up after three straight losses and gets back to .500 at 3-3. A loss to the winless Dolphins would have put a huge crimp on the Jets postseason hopes.
What It Means for the Dolphins: Another loss for the winless Dolphins. Does it matter? Well, Miami was coming off a bye-week and facing a division foe and they still couldn't get up for this game. The Dolphins are the AFC East's new Buffalo Bills.
