Tim Tebow Expected To See Time At Quarterback, According To Report

Stay connected with SB Nation

Tim Tebow will play quarterback for the Denver Broncos against the Green Bay Packers today — sort of. According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, the Broncos' back-up-slash-lightning rod is expected to take snaps at quarterback in some packages within the Broncos' offense today.

Also reported that plan today is to get Tebow into game at QB in certain packages

One possible interpretation of that: the Broncos are looking to solve their serious red zone woes with the deployment of Tebow as a potent run-pass option near the goal line. Tebow's got a few red zone touchdowns in his NFL career, and has also been a strong runner in short yardage situations dating back to his days as a college great at Florida.

But while Tebow was used sparingly in those roles under Josh McDaniels in 2010, John Fox has stuck with starter Kyle Orton throughout the Broncos' slow start in 2011, despite the hue and cry in support of Tebow from a large percentage of Denver's fan base.
