The Steelers have turned to backup running backs Isaac Redman, who has done most of the work since Mendenhall left, and Mewelde Moore.

Mendenhall left with nine rushes for 25 yards and a touchdown with Pittsburgh trailing the Texans by a score of 17-10. Prior to this game, Mendenhall had 148 yards and one touchdown in three games. He was averaging a career-low 3.0 yards per carry.

Check for updates following the game, after the team has had the chance to examine the injury further. Mendenhall played in all 16 games for the Steelers last year and the year before that, topping 1,000 rushing yards in both seasons. Pittsburgh has struggled with injuries this season, most notably along their offensive line.
