Matt Hasselbeck threw three touchdown passes, and Chris Johnson topped 100 yards rushing for the first time as the Titans beat the Browns.
Matt Hasselbeck threw three first-half touchdown passes to give the Tennessee Titans a 21-6 lead. Safety Jordan Babineaux added another touchdown on a third quarter interception return as the Titans easily handled the Cleveland Browns for a 31-13 road win.
Hasselbeck completed ten of 20 passes for 220 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, giving Seahawks fans nightmares about the way his old team tried to low ball him. Jared Cook had 93 yards on just two passes, including an 80-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. In a sign that the Titans could be a force to contend with in the AFC South, running back Chris Johnson looks to have finally gotten over the hump. He topped 100 yards rushing for the first time this season, racking up 101 yards on 23 carries.
Cleveland quarterback Colt McCoy had a jaw-dropping 61 passing attempts on the day. The second-year quarterback completed 40 of those for 350 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Running back Peyton Hillis was back on the field today, but limited to just 10 carries as the Browns tried to erase a significant deficit in the second half. Hills ran for 46 yards after missing last week with strep throat. Montero Hardesty had seven rushing attempts.
The Titans travel to Pittsburgh next week, looking for their fourth win against a Steelers team that lost today in Houston. Cleveland has a bye next week before resuming play in week six against the Oakland Raiders.
