It does not look good for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Following his team’s 10-17 loss to the Houston Texans in the matinee games today, Roethlisberger received an x-ray on his foot. He was later seen leaving the game on crutches and wearing a walking boot.
There are already questions about his availability for next week’s game when the Steelers host the surging Tennessee Titans.
Decimated by injuries, Pittsburgh’s offensive line has been a huge problem all season for the defending AFC champs. Today, they allowed five sacks on Roethlisberger, and the quarterback was pressured throughout the entire game. He completed just 16 of 30 passes for 206 yards and no touchdowns. He threw an interception on his last throw of the game.
Pittsburgh also lost running back Rashard Mendenhall to hamstring injury during the game.
Pittsburgh would like to get both players healthy before facing the Patriots in week eight, but even upcoming games against Jacksonville and Arizona could be difficult without their starting quarterback.
