New England Patriots diminutive wide receiver Wes Welker continued living large this season with a first quarter touchdown catch in Oakland. It was Welker’s third touchdown catch since last week. He gave New England the lead.
But the highlight of Welker's day so far had to be this 21-yard catch from Tom Brady in the second quarter.
Down by 3-0, quarterback Tom Brady found Welker in the end zone for a 15-yard touchdown catch. Welker has 96 yards, so far, on five catches.
This follows Welker’s record setting week three performance against the Buffalo Bills. In that game, he caught 16 passes from Brady for 217 yards and two touchdowns.
New England is looking to prevent two losses in a row, something that has not happened since 2009. They face an Oakland Raiders team coming off an upset win over the New York Jets last week.
Still playing in the third quarter in Oakland, New England now has a 24-10 lead over the Raiders. Their latest score coming off a 33-yard touchdown run from Stephan Ridley.
