NFL Scores Week 4, Falcons Vs. Seahawks: Atlanta Withstands Second Half Rally, Wins 30-28

Stay connected with SB Nation

Matt Ryan and Michael Turner gave Atlanta a lead in Seattle, and the Falcons needed all of it to survive a late rally by the Seahawks.

The Atlanta Falcons built a big halftime lead in Seattle, but managed to avoid the collapses that NFC rivals Philadelphia and Dallas dealt with earlier on Sunday despite a second half rally by the Seahawks, holding on to win on the road, 30-28.

Seattle chipped away at Atlanta's 24-7 halftime advantage steadily in the second half, but couldn't get closer than the final margin after scoring to draw within two points midway through the fourth quarter, and a 61-yard field goal attempt by Steven Hauschka in the dying seconds didn't even come close to being good.

Matt Ryan threw for 291 yards and a touchdown for the Falcons, while Tarvaris Jackson threw for 319 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in the losing effort. Michael Turner had two rushing touchdowns for Atlanta.

The Falcons improved to 2-2 with the win, while the Seahawks fell to 1-3 with the loss.
