Carson Palmer may or may not make his debut with the Oakland Raiders when the team hosts the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Chiefs are looking for their third straight win.
The Oakland Raiders pulled off the blockbuster trade of the season, giving the Cincinnati Bengals up to two first-round picks for Carson Palmer. Fans will likely have to wait one more week for his debut in silver and black, however, while Kyle Boller serves as the stopgap starter for the Raiders. While that's hardly encouraging for Oakland, the team does have the benefit of playing a mediocre Kansas City Chiefs squad.
Granted, Kansas City is coming off a two-game winning streak, but wins over the reeling Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts aren't enough to erase the memory of three straight losses to start the year. The biggest blow for the Chiefs came in Week 2 when Jamaal Charles was lost for the season with an ACL tear. The team may have finally found a capable replacement in Jackie Battle, who racked up 119 yards against the Colts two weeks ago. Going up against a good Raiders front, don't expect anything to come easy, however.
The Raiders will look to dominate on the ground as the have all season, especially with a new starter under center. Darren McFadden has been stellar through six games, averaging over 100 yards per outing. He could have another big day against a Chiefs defensive front giving up 120 yards per game on the ground.
