Christian Ponder makes his first start for the Minnesota Vikings as they face the Green Bay Packers in NFL Week 7
If you had Week 7 in your "When will Christian Ponder become the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings" pool, you're a winner! The rookie first round draft pick out of Florida State will make his first career start against the Green Bay Packers this week, at home in the Metrodome, as Donovan McNabb has lost the faith of a third team in as many seasons.
The Vikings secondary was already going to have a very tough time against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' passing game with Antoine Winfield injured, but things got a whole lot worse on Friday. They found out that they'll be without cornerback Chris Cook, on account of him getting arrested on a domestic violence charge. The Metrodome is never a friendly place for the Packers to play, but the current circumstances are going to make the visitors heavy favorites.
