Earnest Graham Injury Update: Reported Torn Achilles Tendon Would End Season

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back situation is growing more and more murky by the week, as injuries are piling up. Following LeGarrette Blount's knee injury, Earnest Graham has now gone down with what is being reported as a torn Achilles Tendon. Graham dropped virtually untouched, which is one sign of this kind of injury.

The Bucs gave Kregg Lumpkin the carries the rest of the way and he finished with eight rushes for 15 yards. The Bucs have no backups after Lumpkin at this point and will likely bring in some running backs to work out. The good news for Tampa Bay is that LeGarrette Blount was already targeting a week nine return following their bye. Losing Graham hurts no matter the circumstances given his pass catching abilities, but getting Blount back would certainly blunt the impact of that injury to some extent (pun only partially intended).

For now, the Bucs will head back home from London after a disheartening 24-18 loss and take some time to regroup during their bye week. We likely won't get an update on Blount until after the bye.

Josh Freeman Fantasy: Bucs QB Has Disappointing Day

Hopefully, Josh Freeman was able to enjoy England prior to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday because he didn't have a very good time during the game. The Bucs quarterback was picked off four times, although the negative fantasy effects were minimized by his two touchdowns and 264 yards rushing.

Freeman was averaging 244 passing yards a game with 1,459 receiving yards on the season and 5 touchdowns through his first six games of the 2011 NFL season. Freeman's passing yards per game is up nearly 30 yards per game from last season.

Freeman was ranked by Yahoo! as the 10th ranked quarterback heading into Week 7 taking on the Chicago Bears who rank 6th against the pass.

Kellen Winslow Fantasy: Bucs TE Scores Touchdown

Kellen Winslow did not have his best game of the season against the Chicago Bears, but he did do something his fantasy owners had been hoping for: He finally found the endzone. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end caught just four passes for 25 yards, but his four-quarter touchdown catch makes for a reasonably productive afternoon.

Winslow hadn't been that productive from a fantasy perspective this year, but that was not for a lack of trying: he entered Sunday's game with 27 catches in six games, including three straight games with at least five catches. The lack of touchdowns has hurt his value, but he's been a decent option in points-per-reception leagues. On paper, today's matchup with the Bears looked enticing, with Chicago entering the game with one of the worst passing defenses in the league.

Matt Forte Fantasy: Bears RB Shines In London

This season has been the year of the quarterback for most teams, but English fans attending their first NFL game might walk away from Wembley Stadium in London thinking the league is dominated by running backs -- in particular, ones wearing Chicago Bears jerseys.

Neither Jay Cutler or Josh Freeman have looked all that impressive -- neither one has topped 200 yards passing, and they've combined for five interceptions with much of the fourth quarter left to play -- but Matt Forte has been excellent, carrying the ball 20 times for 128 yards. He's found the end zone, as has his backup Marion Barber (four carries, 42 yards).

The Bucs, on the other hand, lost Earnest Graham early in the game and have struggled to get anything going: Kregg Lumpkin has eight carries for 15 yards, and sadly, that leads the team.

For the year, this is just the latest of a string excellent games for Forte: he came into the game averaging 136 yards in his last three.

VIDEO: Roy Williams Scores Against Bucs

Remember when Roy Williams was supposed to be the next big, dominant wide receiver? Well, that hasn't exactly happened, but on occasion he reminds everyone why so many thought he'd be good. On Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he did it again, bouncing off a couple tacklers and scoring his first touchdown of the season.

Williams also made a nice adjustment on the throw from Jay Cutler, turning around and keeping his balance. Now, if he could just do that on a regular basis...

VIDEO: Earnest Graham Injury, Bucs RB Out With Ankle Injury

UPDATE: Earnest Graham reportedly tore his Achilles' tendon, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

***

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Earnest Graham went down untouched with an ankle injury. He left the game and wound up going to the Buccaneers locker room for treatment. The Bucs are also without starting running back LeGarrette Blount who was inactive with a knee injury.  Without Blount or Graham, the Bucs will turn to back up running back Kregg Lumpkin who has played sparingly for the Bucs the past two years.

The Bucs offense will suffer now being down to their third running back and will put more of the Bucs offense on quarterback Josh Freeman's shoulders. The Bucs should be able to still run the football somewhat, but Freeman will need to limit his mistakes and hit some big plays in the passing game.

VIDEO: Matt Forte Scores On 32-Yard Touchdown Run

Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte got the Bears off to an early lead over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Lodon with a 32-yard touchdown run. The Bears scoring drive consisted of just three Forte runs, but they totaled in 58 yards on the ground. Earlier in the drive the Bears running back ripped off a 22-yard run, then capped it off with this 32-yard score.

The Bears hold the early lead over the Bucs in London, 7-0.

LeGarrette Blount Injury Update: Out In London Vs. Bears

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount missed last weeks game against the New Orleans Saints and is not expected to play against the Chicago Bears in London today. Blount injured his knee in the blow out loss to the San Francisco 49ers, which has been reported as a Grade II MCL sprain. Blount is not expected back until after the Bucs Week 8 bye week.

In Blount's place, Earnest Graham will once again shoulder the bulk of the carries. Graham carried the load last week against the Saints to the tune of 109 yards on just 17 carries, including 22 receiving yards out of the backfield. Graham has always been used in 3rd down situations and passing downs, but he's proven to be a good spot starter when asked.

Devin Hester Status Update: Bears WR Probable For London Game

Chicago Bears wide receiver/return specialist Devin Hester is listed as "probable" for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in London, England with a chest injury.

Hester had sore ribs following last Sunday night's 39-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Hester caught five passes for 91 yards and a 48-yard touchdown and returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown, earning NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the second time of the season and 11th time in his career.

Hester's ribs prevented from practicing on Wednesday, but he fully participated in Thursday's practice in Chicago and Friday's practice in London, so the dynamic return specialist appears on target to play on Sunday against the Buccaneers. Whether or not he'll get to make an impact in the return game is another story, as Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris has every intention of avoiding Hester on kicks and punts.

"Hopefully, we can directional kick and do some different things," Morris said via the St. Petersburg Times, "but if we have to kick to him, like last week, we played Sproles who is a dynamic kick returner and we were able to keep the ball away from him and limit his touches, that's what we'll have to do.''
