VIDEO: Miami Converts Willis McGahee Fumble Into Three Points, Barely

Stay connected with SB Nation

Miami converted a Willis McGahee fumble into a field goal, giving them a 6-0 lead over the Denver Broncos.

The Denver Broncos were moving the ball in the second quarter of Tim Tebow's Florida homecoming against the Miami Dolphins today. As with most of their yardage, it was coming in chucks on the ground. After an iffy roughing the passer call, Denver handed off to running back Willis McGahee on first-and-ten at their own 25-yard line. After running for eight yards, McGahee fumbled the ball when he was hit by a Dolphins defender. Miami safety Yeremiah Bell recovered the ball at the Broncos' 40-yard line.

Following the fumble, Miami's offense looked surprisingly competent. They moved the ball 24 yards, finally getting inside the red zone. Then Matt Moore fumbled it on the third down. He was able to recover for just a two-yard loss, and Miami kicked a field goal following that play and a series that pretty much sums up how this game is going in South Florida.

Here's the video.

McGahee leads the Broncos with 56 yards on 13 carries.
