The hearts of Oakland Raiders fans and fantasy owners worldwide dropped when Darren McFadden left Sunday's shutout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the first quarter with a sprained right foot. They can all breathe a sigh of relief, as McFadden is expected to return to play against the Denver Broncos following the team's Week 8 bye.
McFadden avoided the "high ankle sprain" designation that has been responsible for so many lost seasons in the NFL. Hue Jackson opted against putting McFadden back in the game Sunday, even though the running back was able to return to the sideline after being taped up in the locker room.
Should McFadden's probable status change, Michael Bush proved Sunday that he is more than capable as a starter, rushing for 99 yards on 17 carries. Both backs should see even more action while the team tries to ween Carson Palmer into its system following his less-than stellar three interception debut.
