The Minnesota Vikings are not favored to beat Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers this weekend. The Week 8 NFL odds currently list the Vikings as three-point underdogs on the road.
The Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers will play a game very few football fans are looking forward to watching on Sunday. That is, of course, you're either a big fan of Cam Newton or are betting on the game and found this very article looking for the odds and lines on one of the Week 8's worst match-ups.
The Panthers have won just two of their seven games this season, with those two victories largely due to Newton's abilities, and opened the week as four-point favorites according to our NFL Odds page. The line has inexplicably dropped a point in favor of the Vikings since, probably due to Minnesota making it close against the Green Bay Packers last week, making the game all but a pick'em before factoring in the Panthers' home field advantage.
The over-under on Sunday's match-up against two of the NFC's worst teams, at least as far as the rankings are concerned, is at a decent 47 points. Considering the total has gone over in nine of the team's last 13 games according to OddsShark's data -- and gunslingers Christian Ponder and Newton running the teams -- it might not be bad to bet that streak continues.
