The Tennessee Titans are nearly double-digit favorites against the Indianapolis Colts. Are the Colts a live underdog according to this week's NFL odds?
The Indianapolis Colts are still looking for their first win of the year heading into Week 8 of the NFL season. The NFL's odds makers don't see that happening this weekend against the Tennessee Titans, however, as the line opened with the Titans being nine-point favorites.
There are places to get as many as 10 points laid down for the Colts according to SB Nation's NFL odds page, but the fact of the matter is that the Colts probably wouldn't be a good bet regardless considering the drubbing they took on Sunday Night Football last week. In a match-up that will probably feature a struggling Curtis Painter led offense going head-to-head with a team featuring struggling running back Chris Johnson, it's probably best to put the money on the former Pro Bowler in the prime of his career.
There are reasons to be optimistic about an Indy win on the road, however, if that's where one chooses to place his money. Tennessee is just 2-4 this season against the spread and has won just two of its last six games at home against the Colts -- those games featured Peyton Manning under center, of course, but there just might be some magic in Painter's arm one of these weeks.
