NFL Odds And Lines Week 8: Lions Vs. Broncos

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Detroit Lions might be without quarterback Matthew Stafford for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos, but they are road favorites for now.

The Detroit Lions enter Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos in a precarious position. Not only have they lost two games in a row, running back Jahvid Best is unlikely to play and quarterback Matthew Stafford's status is iffy, as well. But even with those strikes against them, the Lions opened as three-point road favorites over the Broncos, according to Odds Shark. One lie has already moved the game to 2-1/2 points, and once Stafford's status comes into focus the line could fall farther.

The Broncos, on the other hand, are still settling into the Tim Tebow era at quarterback. After 55 minutes of awful play, Tebow (with plenty of help) directed a fourth quarter comeback to tie the game and send it to overtime, which eventually resulted in a Broncos win over the Miami Dolphins. But the Broncos will be without Willis McGahee, who fractured his hand in last Sunday's game.
