NFL Odds And Lines Week 8: Cardinals Vs. Ravens

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Ravens are 13-point favorites at home against the Cardinals despite their humiliating loss to the Jaguars on Monday Night Football.

Despite last week's embarrassing slip-up against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Baltimore Ravens are still massive favorites in their home game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8. According to our friends over at Odds Shark they opened as 13-point favorites.

Against the Jaguars' stout defense, the Ravens struggled to run the ball, and soon abandoned any attempts to do so. The Cardinals' D is far more porous, and can be exploited by a dynamic back like Ray Rice. If Rice can get going, the Ravens will jump out to a lead, a position the defense, with its fearsome pass rush led by Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata, can easily exploit.

On the other side of the field, the Cardinals are mired in a severe slump few predicted after trading for Kevin Kolb. Kolb has struggled to maximize his big targets as Larry Fitzgerald and Todd Heap have been shut out of the end zone for the past three games. With no Beanie Wells, it's tough to pick them to cover on the road, even as 13-point dogs.
