NFL Odds And Lines Week 8: Cowboys Vs. Eagles

Philadelphia is favored by a field goal over the visiting Cowboys. Can they tighten things up in the NFC East?

After watching the Philadelphia Eagles lose four consecutive games after beating the impotent Rams in week 1, it seems strange to think that they still have some hope to the keep the dream alive. Michael Vick and company were on a bye last week, after beating the Washington Redskins to keep the standings tight in the NFC East. Since 1990, the Eagles are an NFL-best 18-4 after a bye, including a streak of 12 straight wins that Andy Reid would like to make 13 this week at home against the Dallas Cowboys.

Few people would have noticed Dallas' win last week if not for the performance of rookie running back DeMarco Murray. He broke the franchise record, previously held by Emmitt Smith, for rushing yards in a single game with 253. A matchup with the Eagles run defense has to be equally tantalizing for head coach Jason Garrett.

Philly opened the week as three-point favorites over the Cowboys. That line has since moved to 3 1/2 points.
