NFL Picks And Predictions Week 8: Dolphins Vs. Giants

Stay connected with SB Nation

The New York Giants have a chance to solidify a lead in the NFC East with a win over the Dolphins. Should be easy, right?

Is this the week that Tony Sparano gets fired? If losing a fourth quarter lead against an equally hapless team last week, and adding ample fuel to the Tim Tebow debate, wasn't enough, he may have to wait until the Miami Dolphins may wait until the end of the season. What happens if he beats the New York Giants?

Ok, that's more than a little far-fetched. The Giants lead the NFC with a 68.4 red zone touchdown percentage. Brandon Jacobs returns this week, and even with his foot in his mouth, he's been an effective part of the Giants' red zone attack, scoring six touchdowns in their last seven home games. Defensively, they seem to have shaken off the injuries nicely. Jason Pierre Paul has seven and a half sacks this season and 12 in his last 12 games. Osi Umenyiora has seven sacks and four forced fumbles in his last four games.

Best of luck to the Dolphins.

The experts pick the Giants in a blowout, including Pete Prisco and Peter King. ESPN's panel picks unanimously for the Giants.
