In a matchup of NFC East rivals, each team needs a win to overcome an underwhelming start to the season.
The Eagles and Cowboys get the Sunday Night prime time game this week. It's safe to say that Philadelphia and Dallas (and NBC) thought that they'd be in a better position at this point in the season.
Last week, the Eagles beat the Redskins, improving to 2-4 and saving their season in the process. Meanwhile, the Cowboys proved that not even they could screw up a home game against the Rams. But who will the experts pick when these two NFC East disappointments collide? Let's find out.
Sports Illustrated's Peter King is picking the Eagles by a hair.
Biggest surprise of this game? That it's more a LeSean McCoy-DeMarco Murray show than one between Mike Vick and Tony Romo. Murray won't be any secret, coming off his 253-yard rushing game against the Rams Sunday. But if you heard him on my podcast this week (shameless plug) or on any other of his countless interviews in the wake of the better-than-Emmitt game in his sixth NFL outing, you know it won't go to his head. That's good. I think regardless of how it goes down, Murray will have some gashings of the Eagles Sunday night, but Vick and McCoy will be a little bit better, running and passing.
Philadelphia looks like a popular pick. ESPN.com's panel is leaning 7-1 in favor of the Eagles. Only Merril Hoge likes Dallas. CBSSports.com's panel is more split, picking 3-2 in favor of the Birds.
