Monday Night Football features a Colts team in a heap trouble without Peyton Manning, while the Buccaneers are looking to build on last week's win against division rival Atlanta.
This week's Monday Night Football game between the Colts and the Buccaneers looked a little more exciting when the NFL schedule was first released. But the would-be contest of NFL Old Money vs. NFL New Money has been dampened by the Colts collapse without Peyton Manning.
Of course, it's Monday night, so we will all still watch anyway. Here's a quick guide on watch for.
For the Colts, it's about the quarterback position. Simply, Indianapolis has not been close to the same without Manning. Backing up Manning used to be the cushiest job in sports, but now Curtis Painter should start his first NFL game with the task of saving the Colts season. Or at least preventing it from spiraling into further disaster.
On Monday night, the Colts face the Buccaneers, a trendy preseason pick to leap into contender status behind young talent and youthful exuberance and did I mention their YOUNG. You will probably hear this during the game (I predict at least once or twice). Our friends at Bucs Nation suggest keeping an eye on "What is wrong with Josh Freeman"? If the young and talented Bucs are going to make "the leap" they'll need their young and talented QB to build on his productive rookie season.
Game Date/Time: October 3, 2011 at 8:30 p.m. ET
Location: Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
TV Schedule: ESPN (National)
Announcers: Mike Tirico, Jon Gruden, Ron Jaworksi
