While Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan had previously thought Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson wasn't as good as Dallas' Dez Bryant and Miles Austin, Sunday's performance by Johnson forced Ryan to eat crow.
Johnson came through when it counted the most, catching two touchdown passes during the team's fourth quarter comeback for the 34-30 win. Both times Johnson made leaping grabs. Be sure to check them out here and here. The latter one gave the Lions their first and only lead, as well as the only one that mattered: the final score.
Johnson's stat line is becoming all too familiar with his touchdown grabs. Through the first four games, Johnson has caught two touchdowns each time for a total of eight so far. He is on pace for 32 touchdown catches, which would shatter the single-season record. Randy Moss is the current record holder with 23 touchdown receptions during the 2007 season.
