Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall left Sunday's game after scoring a touchdown in the third quarter as he reportedly suffered a hamstring injury. Mendenhall scored the touchdown with 7:02 left in the third quarter and left from there. He had only nine rushes and one pass attempted in his direction at that point. Isaac Redman and Mewelde Moore split the work load the rest of the way in the Steelers 17-10 loss.
Mendenhall has been up and down this season and this injury does not help matters. He didn't return for a quarter and a half, so you'll want to pay close attention to the Steelers practice participation reports this week in advance of their game with the Tennessee Titans.
If Mendenhall is unavailable this coming Sunday, Redman and Moore would likely split up the workload. If you are have bye week issues either of them would be worth picking up in that instance. One problem with that is not knowing until after a normal Wednesday morning waiver period whether you need one of them. Someone may pounce to get ahead of you for Redman or Moore. Keep an eye out for news over the next 36 hours.
