The New York Giants were down 14-3, and down 17-10 in the fourth quarter. Fortunately, they were playing the Miami Dolphins, and teams playing the Dolphins are undefeated in the 2011 NFL season. The Giants came back for a 20-17 victory in the Meadowlands that kept Miami winless.
New York had to rely on Eli Manning's arm to make its comeback happen. Manning threw for 349 yards and two touchdowns in the victory, connecting with Victor Cruz on a 25-yard strike in the fourth quarter for the game-winning touchdown. Cruz had seven catches for 99 yards and a touchdown.
Manning's big day covered for the Giants' anemic running game (61 yards on 20 carries) and rendered Reggie Bush's breakout outing for the Dolphins moot. Bush ran for 103 yards in the loss, the second time he's hit the century mark in his star-crossed NFL career.
The only other such outing? A 126-yard performance in his rookie year in 2006, which also came against the Giants.
The Giants improve to 5-2 on the year with the victory, while the Dolphins fall to 0-7 with the loss.
