Houston wasn't spectacular, but Matt Schaub and Arian Foster did more than enough to help the Texans down the Jaguars.
The Houston Texans couldn't follow up their destruction of the Titans with as impressive an outing against lowly Jacksonville, but Matt Schaub and Arian Foster helped the Texans dispatch the Jaguars all the same.
Schaub threw for 225 yards and a touchdown, and ran for another score, while Foster ran for 112 yards and a touchdown of his own as the Texans beat the Jaguars, 24-14.
Consistency was the order of the day for Houston: 10 conversions of 17 third down attempts helped the Texans stay on the field and stave off a late comeback attempt.
Blaine Gabbert's struggles helped submarine the Jags, too. He completed just 10 of 30 passes for 97 yards, and threw two interceptions to go against one touchdown. That's the sort of outing that makes fans wince for Maurice Jones-Drew (63 yards on the ground and a touchdown), who continues to ply his trade for a bad team.
The Texans improve to 5-3 on the year with the victory, while the Jaguars fall to 2-6 with the loss.
