Vikings Vs. Cardinals: Adrian Peterson Has Two First Quarter Touchdowns

Stay connected with SB Nation

Adrian Peterson wasted little time getting on the board this week. With less than half of the first quarter in the books, Peterson has two rushing touchdowns and 46 yards on five carries.

His first touchdown came with nine minutes left to play in the first quarter. He ran over his left tackle for a four-yard score. Check out the video below.

Peterson’s second touchdown came twenty seconds later. The Vikings picked off a Kevin Kolb pass intended for Andre Roberts and returned it to the Arizona 24-yard line. On the first snap, Peterson ran through the middle for a 24-yard touchdown, giving the Vikings a 14-0 lead.

Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb added another rushing touchdown to give his team a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. Minnesota is still looking for their first win of the season, and hosting a woeful member of the NFC West might be exactly what the doctor ordered.
