DeAngelo Williams just scored his first touchdown of the season for the Panthers, breaking off a 69-yard run in the second quarter. He took the pitch from Cam Newton the left side, quickly getting into the secondary before finding another gear. The Panthers still trail the 17-13, but the TD helps cut into New Orleans’ lead.
Williams was a huge disappointment early in the year — especially for a guy who signed a contract in the offseason worth $41 million — rushing for just 61 yards in the three games combined. But after breaking out for 82 yards on 10 carries last week against the Bears, he already has 102 yards on just five carries this week — and there’s still two minutes left in the first half! That’s a welcome sight for all of his fantasy owners who stuck with him.
