At what price victory, the San Francisco 49ers are likely asking themselves right now. The 49ers lost wide receiver Josh Morgan late in the fourth quarter to an ankle injury. According to CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, Morgan suffered a fractured right ankle when he was tackled with less than four minutes left in the game. There is no timetable for Morgan's return, but if his ankle is fractured, the rest of Morgan's season could be in jeopardy.
Morgan was having his best game of the season with five catches for 75 yards, establishing himself as the team's top wide receiver this fall. But now the 49ers will need to look elsewhere for picking up the slack.
With Braylon Edwards still a few weeks away from returning, the 49ers currently have just three healthy wide receivers on the roster: Michael Crabtree, Ted Ginn and Kyle Williams. Pyrrhus of Epirus can feel for the 49ers here.
