Julian Edelman was arraigned on charges of indecent assault and battery on a woman after an alleged incident at a nightclub Tuesday morning. Edelman was set free Tuesday morning and ordered to stay away from the nightclub and the alleged victim.
The Boston Globe has the police report that says Edelman "reached under" a woman's costume at the nightclub and "grabbed her vagina" in front of a male witness.
The male witness told police he watched as the alleged victim's face changed into "an expression of shock" at the time of the reported sexual assault.
Both the witness and the alleged victim demanded Edelman be kicked out of the club immediately, the report states. That witness and the alleged victim were booted first, police report, after that "witness" threatened to beat up Edelman.
Edelman was kicked out of the nightclub and denied the allegations to the police, according to the Globe.
SB Nation Boston and Pats Pulpit are covering the allegations against Edelman.

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will be arraigned on charges of indecent assault and battery on a woman after an alleged incident early Tuesday morning, according to a report in the Boston Globe. Edelman is due in court on Tuesday where he'll be arraigned.
There aren't many details but officers were called to a night club around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning to investigate an incident.
After speaking with the female victim, Edelman was arrested on a single count of indecent assault and battery, Driscoll said. Edelman was taken into custody but later posted bail and was released by police.
As SB Nation Boston points out, indecent assault is a serious accusation. It's defined as "any person who has indecent contact with another or takes indecent liberties with a person without his or her consent is guilty of indecent assault. It is a sex crime."
Patriots players are off today so the next media availability would come on Wednesday.

Charges Against Julian Edelman Dropped
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman was arrested in November for indecent assault and battery after he allegedly groped a woman at a night club. The prosecutors are now saying that the charges will be dropped because they wouldn't be able to meet the burden of proof.
Prosecutors say video evidence indicates that Edelman approached a woman on the dance floor and did make contact with her hand briefly but the contact was "fleeting" and "did not meet the elements of a crime."
Edelman now goes back to focusing on the 10-3 Patriots and clinching an AFC East title.
