With Marcus McNeill out of the game with a neck stinger, the San Diego Chargers struggled to keep quarterback Phillip Rivers upright as he was sacked on third down when Raiders defensive end Kamerion Wimbley just exploded past the left tackle for the sack.
On the Raiders ensuing drive, after two runs by rookie Taiwan Jones including a 12-yarder, the Raiders once again took a shot deep down the field. Carson Palmer overthrew wide receiver Denarius Moore just a tad, but Moore made a fantastic grab of the football, catching the ball by the nose with his fingertips. Moore hauled the football in for a 46-yard gain, but the Raiders couldn't get the ball in the endzone.
After the Raiders were stuffed, Sebastian Janikowski booted through a knuckle ball to put the Raiders up 10-3.
