Patriots Vs. Jets Score: Field Goals The Name Of The Game

Stay connected with SB Nation

The New York Jets and New England Patriots showed up for a football game and a placekicking match broke out. With both offenses struggling, it's been all field goals, all the time in the early-goings. The Jets missed their first attempt while Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski is perfect on the night, making both of his tries. Add it all up -- carry the one -- and it's 6-0 New England in the second quarter.

Mark Sanchez is 5-of-8 for 70 yards on the night for the Jets while Tom Brady is 5-of-12 for 118 yards for the Patriots. The New England rushing game is currently missing in action, with BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Stevan Ridley combining for just 10 yards on six carries. Shonn Greene leads all rushers with 28 yards thus far.

If you like special teams, be sure to tune-in to the rest of Sunday Night Football, where the Patriots lead the Jets, 6-0.
