Knowshon Moreno Injury: Broncos RB Has Torn ACL, 2011 Season is Over

The Denver Broncos won a heck of a game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10 but it came at a price -- Knowshon Moreno tore his ACL. Head coach John Fox indicated it was a serious injury and later confirmed it was a torn ACL. That injury will land Moreno on injured reserve.

Moreno went down in the game and it was originally believed to be a sprained ligament in his knee. A Monday MRI confirmed though, that the ACL was torn and his season is over.

The Broncos can use all the running backs they can get considering their offense is largely based on the run -- they threw it just eight times on Sunday -- so in that respect this injury hurts a lot. But it should also be noted that Moreno hasn't made a major impact on the team this season with just 179 yards rushing.

Willie McGahee was also injured in Sunday's game but his situation doesn't seem as severe.

Knowshon Moreno Injury: Broncos RB Return Doubtful With Knee

Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno has suffered a knee injury and his return is doubtful, according to the official team Twitter feed. Moreno left the field and headed to the locker room.

Denver has already lost starting running back Willis McGahee to injury earlier in the game. McGahee hurt his hamstring and his return is questionable.

The Broncos are running the ball almost exclusively on Sunday against the Chiefs. Tim Tebow has thrown just one pass so far, but Denver leads 10-0 in Kansas City. Lance Ball is now getting the bulk of the carries for the Broncos who haven't gone away from the game plan even with this rash of injuries.

Tebow scored the first touchdown of the game on a 7-yard run. Tebow's eighth rushing touchdown of his career is the second-most in Broncos franchise history.
