Willis McGahee Injury: Broncos Hope RB Can Play Vs. Jets

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Denver Broncos and New York Jets square off Thursday Night on the NFL Network in a game with huge playoff implications for both teams. The Broncos are a game out of first place and need every win they can get to secure a playoff spot.

They'll have to earn that spot without the help of Knowshon Moreno and may not have the services of Willis McGahee either.

Moreno has been officially ruled out for the game and for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Moreno tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee at Kansas City on Sunday. He has rushed for 179 yards on 37 carries and caught 11 passes for 101 yards and one TD this season.

Meanwhile, Willis McGahee is listed as questionable for the moment and remains limited in practice with hamstring issues. McGahee has 640 yards, 3 rushing TDs and a receiving TD on the season.

Should McGahee be unable to play, Lance Ball would make his first career start. The Broncos have also promoted Jeremiah Johnson from the practice squad. Johnson, a second-year player out of Oregon, has never had a carry in an NFL game.
