The New York Giants could, for all intents and purposes, eliminate the Philadelphia Eagles from playoff contention with a victory over their NFC East rivals on Sunday Night Football. The Eagles' biggest worry heading into Sunday night's game is the Michael Vick injury and, as one might expect, the NFL expert's picks and predictions don't ignore the fact that a starting quarterback might not play this weekend.
SB Nation's resident expert, Andrew Sharp, submitted his Week 11 NFL picks while believing that Vick might play in Sunday night's game -- even though it probably isn't going to end up being the best idea.
Philadelphia at New York Giants (-4.5) ... The noble thing to do would be NOT playing Michael Vick and his broken ribs and the Eagles' broken dreams, but Andy Reid's got a job to save, so something tells me we'll see ol' no. 7 back there just like always, breaking down just a little bit more, taking an unfair amount of blame for a season that was sorta doomed from the outset.
Peter King of Sports Illustrated also assumes that Vick will play in what will end up as an Eagles' loss.
I'm assuming Mike Vick plays here, and I'm assuming he becomes more of a pocket guy with two broken ribs. That just means he'll be easier to hit for the Giants' voracious front. As for New York, the players have to know Dallas is nipping at their heels, and because the Cowboys are a different team with DeMarco Murray their most important offensive weapon right now (and the Michael Boley-less Giants allowing 4.6 yards per rush), entering the final six weeks in a tie with Dallas would not be very good.
As far as the rest of the experts are concerned? ESPN was unanimous in picking the Giants, CBS Sports picked the Giants across the board and, in a shocker, Yahoo! Sports decided that New York would win as well.
