Michael Vick Injury: Eagles QB Won't Play Vs. Giants, According To Report

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Philadelphia Eagles aren't planning on having Michael Vick when they play the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. Geoff Mosher reports that Vick will not play in the game which leaves Vince Young to face the NFC East leading Giants.

Vick suffered a pair of cracked ribs last week in a loss to the Arizona Cardinals and there's been much debate about his status. Some reports early in the week indicated Vick was unlikely to play while Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Morninhweg said on Thursday that he's still optimistic Vick will play.

Meanwhile, Vince Young took all the reps during practice once again which strongly suggests the Eagles plan to roll with their backup. Teams can say they're optimistic about a certain player playing but their action speak louder than words and it's Young, not Vick, who's on the field practicing.

The Eagles final injury report will be released on Friday afternoon where we'll learn whether Vick has officially been ruled out or whether he's headed for a game time decision.
