The San Diego Chargers and Chicago Bears will both feel like their game on Sunday is nearly a must-win, but their situations are indicative of the very different states of the AFC West and NFC North, as well as the conferences in general. With a win on Sunday, the Chargers could potentially lead their division at 5-5. If the Bears win, they could potentially sit in the final Wild Card position at 7-3.
These are teams headed in two entirely different directions at the moment. The Chargers have lost four consecutive games, mostly due to their abysmal turnover ratio. Since starting the season 2-3, the Bears have won their last four games in a row. Jay Cutler, much maligned in his career for his tendency to turn the ball over, has avoided throwing an interception in four of his last five games. Philip Rivers, meanwhile, has an incredible 15 picks on the season.
