Adrian Peterson injured his ankle on a rather innocuous tackle. He left the game and his return is being called questionable. Up until the injury, Peterson was once again having a solid game. The Minnesota Vikings running back hand already scored a touchdown and had rushed for 26 yards on six carries. The touchdown was Peterson's 11th of the season.
But after a 12-yard run in the second quarter, Peterson went down awkwardly and was forced off the field. A few minutes later, he was shown being carted off to the locker room, presumably to get further tests.
Losing Peterson would be a huge blow to the Vikings, who have just two wins this season. Toby Gerhart came into the game as Peterson's replacement. The second year running back has scored just one NFL touchdown since being drafted in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. So far this year, he has just 100 yards rushing.
