It's rarely pretty, or dramatic, but the San Francisco 49ers just won't mind as long as they keep winning. A 23-7 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11 fits the Niners' no-fuss approach just fine.
Alex Smith threw for 267 yards and two touchdowns, Frank Gore ran for 88 yards, and the San Francisco defense forced five turnovers against overmatched Arizona, which never led.
The Cardinals' lone touchdown was the final score of the game, and came on a 23-yard pass from Richard Bartel to Larry Fitzgerald. Neither Bartel nor starter John Skelton completed over half of their passes, but Skelton's three interceptions were part of one of the worst days by a quarterback this season: he completed just six of 19 passes for a mere 99 yards.
The win pushes San Francisco to 9-1 on the season. Jacksonville falls to 3-7 with the loss.
