Despite the success of rookie quarterback Cam Newton, the Carolina Panthers haven't been able to win many games. The Panthers are coming off a wrenching loss to the Detroit Lions and hope to get back on track against the 0-10 Indianapolis Colts. The Panthers defense has surrendered leads the past three weeks. The Panthers are out of the playoff picture, but stringing together some late season wins could go a long way in the development of the young Panthers players.
The Colts on the other hand are fighting for pride at this point. The team has lost 10 games in a row for the first time in quite a while and have their first losing season since Peyton Manning's rookie season. The Colts defense is one of the worst in the NFL and isn't built to face the type of games the Colts are in. Quarterback Curtis Painter has struggled, but he'll be facing a softer defense against the Panthers.
