NFL Scores Week 12, Texans Vs. Jaguars: Houston Holds On For 20-13 Win

Texans manage to overcome an injury to backup quarterback Matt Leinart to beat the Jaguars on the road.

It was a bit of a good news-bad news day for the Houston Texans. On the undeniably good side was their 20-13 win on the road against Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. On the undeniably bad side was the loss of backup quarterback Matt Leinart to what appears to be a broken collarbone.

The rest of the game fell somewhere in between those extremes. It was probably a good sign that the Texans managed to win despite a pretty mediocre game from Arian Foster, rushing for 65 yards. On the other hand, there was really nothing to be too happy about from the quarterbacks. Leinart completed a lot of passes, but never really looked down field before getting hurt. Fifth-round draft pick T.J. Yates was just 8 of 15 for 70 yards in relief.

Luckily, the Texans got a huge game from their defense. The Jaguars gained just 255 yards and were sacked nine times, four of them by Connor Barwin. Jacksonville was so bad, in fact, that quarterback Blaine Gabbert was pulled and replaced by Luke McCown.

Aside from Maurice Jones-Drew's 166 all-purpose yards, the Jaguars' best offense came from their defense. Cornerback Ashton Youboty scored the Jags' only touchdown on a fumble recovery in the first quarter.
