The Pittsburgh Steelers hung on to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football, but it wasn't pretty. The game included six total turnovers, the last of which sealed the deal when Dwayne Bowe failed to attempt catching Tyler Palko's pass, and the final score read 13-9 in favor of the Steelers.
The Chiefs defense was great, but the Steelers offense was able to use solid field position to its advantage as they improved to 8-3 on the season.
Ben Roethlisberger was able to lead his team to the only touchdown of the game when he found rookie tight end Weslye Saunders in the back of the end zone for a two-yard touchdown pass. It was just Saunders' third reception of his career and he definitely made it count. Roethlisberger finished the game by completing 21 of his 31 passing attempts for 193 yards.
The Chiefs looked bad on offense throughout as Tyler Palko ended up throwing three interceptions to offset his 18 completions for 167 yards, but their final play of the game will probably be the talk at the watercooler on Monday morning. Palko overthrew a pass to Bowe, but his star receiver didn't even attempt to go up and get it -- forcing Chris Collinsworth to call him "lame" a few times on the NBC broadcast.
It wasn't as bad as Collinsworth made it seem, but it wasn't exactly a good attempt at saving the game, either.
