Giants vs. Saints Score Update: Victor Cruz Catches TD, Cuts Saints Lead

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Giants have life. Eli Manning found wide receiver Victor Cruz for a 72-yard touchdown pass to cut the Saints lead to 35-17 early in the fourth quarter on Monday Night Fooball.

The Saints appeared to have the game in hand, but a blown defensive assignment has pulled the game off life support for the moment.

Perhaps, after struggling on offense all game, the Giants figured out the top secret key to beating the Saints defense: Throw the ball deep, have Cruz catch it and run for a touchdown. If that's the case, this 18-point deficit should just melt away in the fourth quarter.

Then again, the Giants would still have to stop Drew Brees. So far, that's been near impossible to do.

Oh, one more thing. Please watch this Giants mucked up punt attempt. It might have been an intentional fake or maybe not. It *definitely* is very funny.
