The San Francisco 49ers are small favorites again the Washington Redskins according to the Week 9 NFL odds. Will Alex Smith and Frank Gore make Vegas regret that?
The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the more surprising teams in the NFL this year, amassing just one loss heading into this weekend's game with the Washington Redskins. The Week 9 NFL odds believe the 49ers will be able to get through their away game in Washington this weekend, but the spread isn't as wide as one might expect.
The 49ers, led by Frank Gore and increasingly capable Alex Smith, opened as just 4½ point favorites this week. That line isn't very large, likely due to the fact that the team will have to travel across the country in order to lay John Beck's Redskins.
Vegas doesn't think this game will be very exciting, at least if excitement involves high scores, as the over-under opened at a paltry 39 points ... and has been dropping.
