The Philadelphia Eagles have ruled Michael Vick out for Thursday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks. Vick injured his ribs in Week 10 and has yet to see the field since then. His backup, Vince Young, has gone 1-1 in those two games.
The Eagles are in a do-or-die mode right now at 4-7 (and maybe/probably already dead) so Vick must really be in bad shape if he's not playing. That said, he hasn't been practicing this week so the fact he's been ruled out really shouldn't come as a huge surprise. It was reported early in the week he was unlikely to play.
Interestingly, Vick was ruled questionable last week, yet this week he's ruled out a day before the game.
Young comes off an average performance against the Giants in Week 11 (and one great drive) and the following week he threw for 400 yards (mostly in garbage time) in a loss to the Patriots.
The odds on the game haven't been posted at many places because of the Eagles murky quarterback situation but, as usual, we'll say the Eagles have enough talent to beat their opponent -- it's just a matter of actually doing it.
