Mark Sanchez Fantasy: One Touchdown For Jets QB

Stay connected with SB Nation

New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez helped his team beat the Buffalo Bills by a final score of 27-11. Sanchez finished the game 20-for-28 with 230 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Fittingly, his one touchdown was a 9-yard pass to Santonio Holmes.

Sanchez, through his criticism and occasional struggles this year, is actually having the best season of his career so far in 2011. He's thrown for 12 touchdowns in seven games with only six interceptions, throwing for more than 1,500 yards. Sure, they're not spectacular numbers, but it's better than you would have expected considering all the negative attention he's been given.

Sanchez faced the Buffalo Bills in Week 9, a defense that's given up big chunks of yardage, but is phenomenal at getting takeaways. Considering that's long been the knock on Sanchez, things had the potential to go south in a hurry for the Jets' quarterback.
