Drew Brees is back on track. The Saints quarterback is putting up great fantasy stats in the first half against the Bucs. Brees threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns before intermission. It looks like the only thing that could slow him down in the second half is if the Saints continue to build on their 17-3 lead and turn the offense over to the running game.
Brees had maybe his most puzzling performance as a professional football player in Week 8 against the Rams, throwing for less than 300 yards for the first time in, like, ever, and tossing just one touchdown to two interceptions. Though Easy Breesy Lemon Squeesy has been more turnover prone this year in general, he's leading the league in passing yards per game, so being held to even 269 like last week was a huge deal, especially since he completed 30 passes.
Against the Buccaneers earlier in the season, Brees threw three interceptions and just once touchdown, but he threw for 383 yards to take the stink off the performance a bit for his fantasy owners. Brees was ripe for a bounce back game and the Bucs' pass defense hasn't been one of the stoutest units this year.
